| SPA Q&A | YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED |
How
do I choose a spa?
There are so many spa’s out there and just as many
different treatments that it can actually get quite overwhelming - one
has to zoom in on the smaller details when choosing a spa.
Ask yourself why do you want to visit a spa? - Do you want to relax and get pampered or do you want alternative treatments like colonic irrigation or would you prefer a detox at a 'health farm'. Another point to consider is whether you want to go for a weekend, just for the day or half-day? These points will help narrow your search down.
If you are planning on going with friends, then ask the spa whether they cater for groups or if you're looking for a romantic getaway with your man then ask whether they can offer anything special like couples massages?
Also consider your budget - do you have a specific amount that you would like to spend and what level of quality, treatments and facilities do you expect for that amount?
Also ask friends and family which spas they have been to and which ones they'd recommend. Once you have asked these questions then you will be better able to choose a spa to suit your needs.
The most important factor is for you to feel comfortable
and at ease at the spa. Once you have established what spa you'd visit and
what treatments you want, the hard work is done and
you can look forward to a real pampering, detox or spa health session! |

MASSAGE OILS AND THEIR PURPOSE |
| Sweet
Almond Oil |
This one is the
most common oils. It is light oil that contains vitamins and minerals,
proteins, and glucisodes. Good for most skin types, and is especially
useful for dry and itchy skin. It has the added benefit of being anti-inflammatory. |
| Apricot
Kernal Oil |
Useful for prematurely aged,
dry and sensitive skin. Good for all types of skin, it contains vitamins
and minerals. Its main use is to relieve stress. |
| Jojaba
Oil |
It contains various protein and minerals, is antibacterial, and
helps to balance the brain and the pituitary glands. It helps to
break down sebum in clogged pores and is helpful to treat various
skin disorders. |
| Lavender |
A soothing massage
oil with calming properties. |
| Camomile |
Both Roman and German camomile have excellent
calming properties, but Roman camomile is more effective for irritation,
impatience and feeling disagreeable, and has great value in treating
PMS and other menstrual and menopausal problems, while German camomile
again is super effective on the skin, not only to sooth and calm,
but to heal and to regenerate tissue. |
