DID YOU DNOW THAT YOUR GRANNIES’ BEAUTY REMEDIES COULD WORK FOR YOU!

There seems to be a modern buzz around natural beauty products and enthusiasts are returning to the old conventional methods of beauty treatments by creating their own range of creams and body butters. The word “organic” airs an earthly or natural presence, but is it really that much better for us and what are these ingenious ingredients?

Well, the skin acts as a two way membrane, eliminating toxins and absorbing nutrients for the body. Bearing this in mind, all the cosmetics that we apply to our bodies are effectively absorbed into our skin whether they are good for our body or bad.

This is a good reason for so many people opting for organic products but how do you know that the product is genuinely organic? The only way you will know would be to look out for a certified logo on the packaging. Without this logo, the term “organic” is meaningless. You can also go through the ingredients on the packaging. These will give you a clear indication if the product is organic or not.

A better option would be to create your own skin care range. It’s fun, creative and doesn’t cost as much as leading products do. You could find most of these products at your local supermarket or health store.

These are a few of the main ingredients that could be used to your skins benefit:

Organic Aloe Vera (organically produced aloe vera plants): These plants contain healing properties that regenerate your skin.
Organic Safflower Oil (cold pressed from Safflower seeds): Contains soothing and skin softening properties
Organic Avocado Oil (cold pressed from the avocado fruit): This is very nourishing for dry skin.
Organic Shea Butter (from organic shea nut beans): This product is great at preventing stretch marks and contains a natural sunscreen.
Non – GMO Lecithin (this is from non – genetically modified soybean oil): This is known to be a natural moisturizing factor contained in healthy skin.
Organic Sugar – Cane Ethanol (from organic sugar cane): This helps emulsify the oils, butters and aloe together.
D- Panthenol (is a precursor to vitamin B5): This is used for healing and moisturizing.
Organic Olive Juice Extract (is from organic olive juice): This contains natural antioxidants and protects the skin from UV damage.
Organic Grapefruit Seed Extract (grapefruit seeds): This forms as a natural antibacterial.
Natural gum (taken from natural sources): This is used to thicken the product and soften the skin.
Organic Vanilla Extract (taken from organic vanilla beans): This creates a pleasant smell.

It seems that turning to your grannies traditional remedies could be the way of the future.
