9 TIPS TO BEING A HAPPIER YOU
Are you constantly seeing the negative in life, feeling drained and tired? Have you ever thought that your routine or attitude may play a huge part in you feeling like this? Well, now is the time to set things straight. There are drugs on the market that can make you feel more energised and enthusiastic about life but for now we would like to focus on the emotions within and here is how to make your move in becoming a happier you?
  • Friends and bonding with other people, listening to their life stories and interacting in general is a great way of relieving stress and being with good friends generally generates lots of laughter which in itself triggers the ‘happy bug’.
  • While socialising with your friends, don’t get caught up in comparing yourself to them. You will never be like them and they will never be like you. Remember that you have qualities that they might admire even if they may not seem as obvious to you. Focus on your own goals and achievements no matter how small they might be.
  • Set yourself goals, they may be little or big but strive to achieving each and every one of them (remember to be realistic when setting your goals). Goals define who you are and shape who you would like to become.
  • Make sure that you fill yourself with positive energy and thoughts. When you find yourself dwelling on a negative thought, STOP and replace these soul drainers with at least three happy thoughts.
  • I know that this is an old myth and it seems really cheesy but when you feel down, pretend to be happy and before you know it you would have forgotten why you felt so down in the first place.
  • Do not fill your thoughts with things like... If only I had a drink.... I just need a smoke or I’ll feel better after a slab of chocolate remember not to delay your happiness!
  • Go for a walk, run or swim. Do something energetic even if it means that you make up some aerobics moves while listening to your iPod. You are guaranteed to boost your energy levels and lift your mood. Make sure you get plenty of sleep once the exercise is done!
  • Never miss an opportunity to be nice to someone, even if it means offering your smile. Take note of those around you that are less privileged. Why not buy that hungry beggar some food? This may seem insignificant but trust me it works! The decision needs to come from within and ultimately you need to decide to be that happier person. There are no wrong ways or right ways to being happier and if you find that putting puzzles together brings out the HAPPIER YOU then so be it.
